BlogPress Lite

now that i've just installed the free version of blogpress lite on my itouch, i can conveniently pen thoughts on-the-go (making sure first that there's internet connection) of course. so everytime i blog from here, i sign 'A Touchy Post', just so i'd know.

so tomorrow's going to be a big day for me:) other than my dental appointment, i've got another important appointment with my long-lost buddy from Drake, Jason Tan Jia Liang.

it's a small poolside potluck and it's meeting the few DUrians after a looooong while. especially Jia Liang, he's been gone for more than a year i think. and i do miss our good old days. i cant wait :)

Where Do I Start?

the past two weeks have been pacing real fast. i dont even know where to begin. the highlight probably, of the recent fortnight is the Malakoff Run the family went for. it's important to note however, that family here is the aunt's family and their in-laws. it may be surprising to some, but the family i belong to is huge. the aunt, cousins from the mother's side are practically our immediate family. we go over each other's houses so frequently you'd be shocked to know we sleep on the same bed, share the same bowl of rice and can even snuggle with each other (even if the cousins are from the opposite sex).

yes, that close. my aunt's place in kemensah is also my holiday home where i spend time with the grown-up cousins, chilling and learning a thing or two because they're awesome cooks! anyway, back to the malakoff run which was the first ever run i took part in was a wonderful experience. i never knew i could hit 7.4 clicks in about 1 hour and 15 minutes, shorter than the 2hour period given.so that was definitely an achievement i am happily proud of and more importantly the kickstart of my running career.

i wish to pursue it seriously, taking up three-times-weekly jogging and participating in more runs in the future, such as the putrajaya run perhaps on the 6th of february. this time though, i'm dragging miamor in so he can run by my side and catch me when i fall. as if. i'm just dragging him because i want us to start the healthy habit together and one day be great in running. and not to mention build a wider circle of friends for social purposes. hehe.

moving on, the recent lack of posts is also due to the kuantan trip the SoS (siblings of sufian) and parents had. it was a short getaway for the five while aris headed for his st john state camp in rawang. we enjoyed the feel of the sand, the sound of the crashing monsoon waves and the crisp of the hotel bed for sure. hotel breakfast was mediocre but the choices were definitely aplenty. a short enough holiday to feel far away.

and speaking of holiday seasons, it was a one-of-a-kind experience for aiman and i to play board games, listen to christmas carols and get christmas presents (extremely early celebration i might add) from the nextdoor neighbours who hail from the land of borat aka kazakhstan. aunty wan's neighbours are those rare kind who give away furniture, cook food and offer driver's service for us. seriously they're THAT awesome. aida, dinara the neighbour's baby dressed up as santa and gave away the presents for the seven of us! including to nenek. again, they're THAT awesome. i would definitely try vey hard to be as friendly a neighbour as they are and a very generous one too. because karma can hit you back and throw you even awesome-R neighbours, no?

annddddd that pretty much sums up the highlights of the reasons for absence. a quarter of it, at least. pixels are on their way, once i get over and done with abg vishnu's work. till then, merry christmas! see you in singapore :)

Fancy Pancy

i usually fancy camps despite the fact that i've gone to more than 10 camps ever since primary. no kidding. i think of camps to be a place where i can meet new people, suffer, and learn to appreciate the things i have. and i achieved just that and so much more recently. all thanks to the controversial Birotatanegara (BTN) Camp in Meru, Klang this past four days, i've learned to appreciate not only the warm presence of family but most importantly, i've learned to love my country unlike before. seriously, i'm no fool. some say it is a temporary feeling, this patriotism and strong affection, but i truly hope it lasts forever.

and ever. because i sure owe a lot to our former fighters. they've sacrificed beyond what we can ever imagine and taking that for granted would be a sin to the country. it would be betrayal. i really hope that when (God Willing) i depart for Australia for the next half a decade or so, i'd always come back home to where i belong. i hope that thoughts of migrating won't even come across my mind knowing that i have Malaysia to come back to. and just for the record, news about the awaited SACE results are due this 14th so actual results may be obtainable soonafter.

prayers have been abundant to help ease the worry. and hopefully, God will grant me the results i deserve. i have worked hard enough and done my very best for finals and only God has the power to determine my future. whatever it is, i shall receive it with an open mind and an open heart.

because this is where i belong

i hope this post wasn't too boring.

Nak Cuti

we girls just want to have fun and kick it old skool style. in simpler words, we all nak cutiiii bersama :) tapi kan, ade sorang tu kan, dah kat europe sekarang tau, tgh syok berenjoy. hehe. anyway, plans are for this new year. but no thanks to the lame public (excluding us three), bookings for the BOMB hotels are full. super-packed and unless you're willing to fork out RM1500/night for pangkor laut for a minimum of FIVE nights, then don't bet your horses on those hotels. SIGHS. we had such high hopes to snorkel in the crystal clear waters of pangkor laut (to pay for two nights, MAXIMUM) yet the hopes came crashing like the monsoon waves. so what's left?

tioman - OUT because of the miserable monsoon
redang, perhentian, sipadan too :(
pangkor - OUT because of the minimum nights of stay
langkawi - OUT because of the same case of five nights per stay

the freezing one
.copyrighted from facebook.

that leaves us the only option of altering the date from 1st to maybe the 8th. because there simply is no other way for the holiday if peak seasons are the problem. it's not a matter of place, but a matter of time so hopefully ieka can make herself free kay ieka :D *hint hint* we need you for the holiday. it's either the three of us, or no holiday at all! warm hugs for the freezing one in europe.

The Touchy Post

for the first time ever i am actually blogging from my itouch. i never knew it was truly plausible and that i'd be able to pen my feelings by touching the keypad all over. and now that i know such a thing can be done i guess i'd be able to blog a lot more often. this touch has unbelievably changed my life in countless ways :) call me a techy geek all you want - this touch is a product of all my blood, sweat and ultimately the generous donations from the loving cousins. i owe a huge portion to them.

well till my next post, i just wanted to remind farfar and skrulus that we meet next week okay! its been long enough and its time we made proper and timeless conversations.

Planet Saman

it was a GDO (great day out) with ex-roommate, aisyah nazurah today. we only planned for the 9am brekkie at village park but ended up watching a movie with her cousins instead. it's been not-so-long-ago when i last saw her yet the urge to catch up on things was there. and it was really strong. i miss our days of room-mating. she was definitely the one i could talk to, the one i had most in common with since we shared many many mutual friends. there were four of us in room TL26 and the other two have gone their separate ways too.

so there she was, being all helpful and fetching me for brekkie and to village park we went and caught up on things. i don't know how else to express the comforting feeling i get meeting people whom i have shared such sweet history before. it's a warm feeling to share that conversation even over sips of teh tarik and i think that's what best defines me. i want to take 'meeting people' up as a daily job. a past time even. and i know it's something i won't bore from.

we took to TGV and watched planet 51 while picking up a summon at the same time. just for that 10 minutes we missed for not turning up on time when the officers issued the summon, it was a RM100 fine to pay. SIGHS. anyhow, i just wanted aisyah to know (if she's reading this) that i enjoyed every moment of today and that our meetings should never EVER stop. i am probably going to need an accountant one day and i want that accountant to be you, dear :)

we'll pay parking tickets the next time around k?

Back To Work

did i tell you i started working already? yes, i am proudly serving my holiday hours at my fourth favourite place (you don't have to know the top 3) in the world - Petrosains. earning my fair share of small bucks and meeting new and exciting people on a daily basis is simply very very interesting. it's my kinda thing and a lot has changed about the place - especially the fact that DinoTrek is forever gone, shifted to Pahang i think. and that now they're having this other exhibition called Muzika - where science and music meet. i haven't officially gone in to have a look just yet since i didn't have much time two days ago but i plan to get the free tour sometime this tuesday.

they're also introducing a costly yearly Petrosains membership for families and individuals. volunteers unfortunately don't get even the slightest bit of discount but who needs free entrance into Petrosains when you're already working there and chances are you know every inch of the place and what it has to offer. the only reason why i might consider becoming a member is the free general admission to hundreds of museums and science centres all over the world. yes, you heard me right. a Petrosains member is entitled to all that at a price of RM50 annually. so one day, maybe. in the meantime, there is this Education Sponsorhip Unit (ESU) Camp i really really want to take part in and it's happening this 6th to 8th December.

the devastating part is that this 8th coincidentally is my 'beloved, long-awaited' Biro Tatanegara (BTN) Camp. SIGHS. i have been wanting to relive the SAHABAT memories since i've devoid myself of all that after entering college. and now that i have all (almost) the time in the world, i can't exactly do what i want due to imperfect timing. SIGHS again. well, i guess i'll have to wait for the next camp that is most probably going to happen only next year since other camps have their respective volunteers already. i don't just want to work in the centre. i want fresh and exciting training, the sleepless nights and freebies too :D
